Being A Productive Member of Society...

Is a big fat pain in the butt. :-D

I haven't written anymore today since the 7000 word bender I went on yesterday. Yup, some people have drunken benders, I write til I'm so exhausted I can't write anymore and then wake up and do it again the next day. This time though, I only had two days of consecutive writing before I took a day off. Either I'm retaining some of my life outside of writing, or I'm just getting old and don't have the endurance I did at 15. :-)

So, while being a productive member of society, actually leaving the sanctity of my writing nook to go out, I went to see my friends at Bible study. It was my second-to-last class and I must've been in a sharing mood, because I talked a lot more than I usually do. I went to lunch with them at Chick-Fil-A and had a fruit cup and a lemonade, since Chick-Fil-A is not exactly a vegan friendly establishment. I got to talk some more with three older women from my class who seem to be at least marginally thrilled that I'm in the class and saying more than two words at a time. They don't seem to mind me being a vegan, which is good. Especially since I'm at an evangelical church, I'm always afraid they will just stereotype me as a loudmouth liberal hippie (which I am, but I've come to terms with it), but they were actually very receptive and not too bad when it came to the fact that they were talking openly about barbeque and the "You can't relate," type of statements that come with it. Sure I can relate, I love barbeque, but I prefer my pig alive and happy. Maybe that makes me weird, but that's alright. :-) Anyhoo, it was a good time.

I have settled very nicely in a vegan diet that really needs some more vegetables, lol. So, I will take my duckets and go to Whole Paycheck market for my mock meat and the supermarket down the road for my frozen veggies. My mom was trying to be nice and brought me home some mock meat, only to read the ingredients and find out it had dairy! :-) Well, one of the packages did, anyhoo. I can't wait to try out the teriyaki mock chicken, provided it has no dairy. Allergies are fun, right?

I have been reading W is for Wasted, which I read at least 90 pages of last night. I met Sue Grafton at got the book signed, but never got around to reading it. It is actually very good, and she's not a writer who just writes even though the series is dead. She's still sassy and awesome at 76 and writes great books. And she and I discussed running. Gotta love a running writer. :-)

Well, that's it for me for now. I will be back later tomorrow and hopefully will be up to my old tricks again. Be blessed and enjoy the journey.
